WITH BARE HANDS - STREET ART

With Bare Hands (Street Art) is a campaign aimed at raising awareness, provoke discussion, and challenge the status quo via visual storytelling. It not only shows how the huge metal skeletons of old vessels are still dangerously stripped apart on the shores of the Global South but also opens a window into the lives of the exploited workers and vulnerable local communities, denouncing the illegality of this toxic trade.

With Bare Hands (Street Art) gives the multimedia project With Bare Hands, created by award-winning photojournalist Tomaso Clavarino and videomaker Isacco Chiaf in 2016, a new dimension. Fifteen powerful images, taken by Clavarino during his trip to South Asia, will be pasted on selected walls of the city of Lisbon on May 27. Check them out!

WITH BARE HANDS - LIVE NARRATION DOCUMENTARY (ENGLISH)

With Bare Hands (Live) is a show that guides the audience inside the shipbreaking yards of Bangladesh. Live music, visuals and theatre are combined to provide a comprehensive overview of the issue through a unique multimedia format.

With Bare Hands (Live) gives the multimedia project With Bare Hands, created by award-winning photojournalist Tomaso Clavarino and videomaker Isacco Chiaf in 2016, a new dimension. Via narration, photography, data visualisations and reportage documentary, the performance tells how shipbreaking is contributing to the destruction of the ecosystem and affecting the lives of thousands of vulnerable people.

The event will be presented by award-winning activist Nicola Mulinaris, Senior Communication and Policy Advisor of the NGO Shipbreaking Platform. We look forward to meeting you there!
